Professional Psychology Service offers value and high quality services. Please see below for detailed information on our fee structure and payment options.
Medicare
Clients referred on a GP Mental Health Plan to a specialist Clinical Psychologist are eligible to claim a rebate from Medicare of between $93.35 and $137.05 per hourly consultation, depending on the Clinician you visit.
Under a Mental Health Care Plan, your maximum out-of-pocket expense for Professional Psychology Service will be approximately $86.65 to $82.95.
When referred under a MHCP, Medicare eligible services are limited to 10 individual consultations per client, per calendar year, with a review by the referring practitioner required after the initial 6 consultations. Please discuss with your doctor whether you (or your child) are eligible for a MHCP.
Please note that you do not require a medical referral to access our services, however substantial Medicare rebates are available to clients referred by a medical professional (a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician) under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). Medicare rebates can be processed at the time of payment into your designated bank account if your bank details are registered online with Medicare.
Private Health Cover
Most private health insurers offer a rebate for psychological services. Contact your private health fund to find out the rebate you are entitled to.
Please note that private health insurance ancillary cover cannot be used to top up the Medicare rebates for these services. If you have obtained a GP Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) you will need to decide whether you will use Medicare or your private health insurance ancillary cover to pay for part of the service fee. If claiming on Private Health Cover, your account will be itemised allowing your family to claim between 30-100% of the consultation fee (depending on the Policy holder's level of 'Extras' cover, duration of consultation, and number of family members engaging therapy).
Private Consultation fees are as follows:
Dr Claire Cashman, $220 per 60 minute session.
Amanda Menzie, $180 per 60 minute session.
Georgia Cook, $180 per 60 minute session.
Richard Wilkinson, $180 per 60 minute session.
Payment
Payment is required at the time of each consultation and can be paid via most credit cards, EFTPOS, or cash. Cheques will not be accepted. Concessional rates are available for pensioners and holders of current Health Care Cards. In the case of individuals/families who are experiencing genuine financial hardship we may provide services at a reduced fee.
